Reflecting 2021 and Welcoming 2022

Reflecting 2021 and Welcoming 2022

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We have arrived at almost the end of December 2021 and New Year 2022 is just around the corner. At this end of the whirlwind year, we think that one of the best things to do is to reflect.

For the past, most people would have a pre-objective for the following year. Somehow, we think that reflecting ourselves before the end of the year would be better. It allows us some space to present and enjoy without the weight of our current situation on our shoulders.

How to Look Back?

How you look back on your year will depend on what mindfulness and physical practises you already have. If you practise yoga and meditation, you might dedicate it to be continued as an exercise or it can become a healthy calming mind strategy to learn to accept or to change your living lifestyle.

Writing is a good way to gather your thoughts because it will give you a chance to take your thoughts out from your head and get it organised in front of you.

Some Questions that you might wish to reflect on:

  1. What are your biggest wins of the year? What are you proud of?
  2. What changes did you make to help the environment? What impact did it give you?
  3. What goals did you set yourself this year and did your goals give you the meaningful achievements?
  4. What are your biggest challenges this year? Did you overcome these challenges?
  5. What are the changes in your lifestyle, your habitual routines or did you discover new rituals, changes that you want to work on?
  6. What is your current assessment of your own health? Do you need to make changes to your eating habits to remain healthy?
  7. Did you surprise yourself this year?
  8. Did you find a new found love hobby? Or a new relationship?
  9. What are you most grateful for?

Celebrate Wins and Learn from Losses

It is common to focus on things you can perform well. Do you feel you had fallen short so that we can learn from it or you had the full confidence of your gains? Dwelling on your success can hold us back whereas trying to understand why we did not get there will help us make the positive changes.

Take a Good Rest

Temptation to bounce and get back to action for 2022 is impeccable after spending some time to reflect. If there was ever a time to unburden ourselves with constant forward thinking – we would encourage taking some time off to rest and taking a break and energising ourselves by celebrating our wins.

We hope your moment of reflections will help you see the light in yourself and then being present in this festive season wherever you are and whomever you spend it with, helps you shine brighter.

May your gatherings be happy, merry and cheerful!
