Staying Healthy to Boost Your Immune Level

With the recent outbreak of the Influenza A as reported by our Ministry of Health in Malaysia during the last month of 2019 period, one of the treatment plans advised by the Western Doctor was self quarantine with plenty of rest at home besides the prescription of medication. Besides this advice given by the doctor, what is your own treatment plan to increase the sick patient’s immune level to recover?

With the epidemic of the coronavirus (COVID-19) at the present moment, almost everyone is rushing to the pharmacy to stock up surgical masks, hand sanitisers, and antibacterial wipes thus making it unavailable for those sick people and children who might need it more. We hear reports of quarantine related health issues due to the confinement to each own space. All these preventive methods are external measures and we are not treating our each and individual body cell? Health begins from our inner self and with help from external measures.

How does one propose to plan out a prevention long term treatment plan for your loved ones? We had seen the different strains of virus spreading from SARS, Ebola, Influenza A, etc. around the world at different times.

Modernization living has come up with much availability of food nutrient booster that are processed and are ready to eat once you purchase it. The criteria of understanding your own digestion capacity to absorb this nutrient is never a question to ask yourself as there are assumptions that your digestion capacity is always at its optimum level . So how can you ensure that there is good absorption of these good nutrient food boosters that you had bought and swallowed? Can this really prevent you from catching a disease?

In Ayurveda healing, meaning science of life, good health starts with our digestive system’s capacity that can break down food, nutrient gets absorbed and toxics are eliminated on a regular basis with regular routine of cleanse, detox, and rejuvenation as maintenance of good health to old age. Below are the simple steps to follow on a regular basis :

Cleansing and Detox

I have talked about a few methods before in my past blog content: Intake of more veggie and fruit diet, cutting food intake and volume; avoid eating sugary stuffs and fried food.

Weekly cleanse with intake of organic castor oil, intermittent fasting, oil pulling, home enemas are very easy method to have regular cleanse of the body systems. These methods were earlier taught in the Illness & Common Cure section in the blog which you can read again.

Rejuvenation

Continuing to eat fresh cooked food which consists of food with life force (meaning vegetarian diet of fruits and vegetable).

Regular exercising e.g. yoga, walking, running, swimming on a daily basis for 15minutes. This helps the lymphatic system to perform more efficiently to detox and remove your toxicity in your body.

Sleep at regular hours helps the liver to perform its self duty to detoxify harmful materials that could be found in our body.

Drinking water at regular hours up to 2L per day is encouraged to keep our body hydrated and to ensure our electrolyte is balanced for all our body organs to function well.

Use more spices and herbs into your cooking culinary to improve the body’s digestive functions.

Improving Your Immunity

A healthy body will lead to a healthy efficient mind to be able to uptake the daily stress of responsibilities. Here are some of the daily health booster drinks that can be taken on a daily basis, as follows:

Antioxidant Healthy Drink

  • 1/2 teaspoon organic turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon organic ginger powder (or more to your liking)
  • 2 tablespoons Raw Jarrah Honey
  • (optional) 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice or kasturi lime juice

Mix in the above with 1 small cup of warm water and stir to drink on an empty stomach 15 mins before breakfast or 1.5hrs after breakfast. This drink can also be given to any child above 3 years old.

Increase your Immune Levels

You can do this with intake of a daily dose of organic moringa powder. It has loads of antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties, and is higher in protein levels than milk. A daily dose of 1 teaspoon is good enough for maintaining a healthy body. If you are recovering from a disease, then you can increase the daily dose to 2 teaspoons.

The best manner to absorb the maximum goodness of this organic moringa powder is to have it as a herbal tea with warm water.

Anti Preventive Flu Drink

Combine the following and put this mix into a tea sachet and brew it with hot water. When it is warm you can add 1-2 teaspoons of Jarrah Honey before you drink it. You can have this twice a day after meals.

  • Organic black pepper whole – 6-10pcs
  • Organic ginger powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Organic turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Organic lemongrass powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Organic fennel powder – 1/2 teaspoon

What I have done for my family members – I made this in a big batch of 30-40 sachets and keep it in an airtight zip lock bag and keep it in the frig- ready for use daily.

Jarrah Honey

Both the 3 formulas above can be taken on a daily basis or you can alternate the 2 drinks with a daily intake dose of the organic moringa powder.

You only need to intake this on a regular basis and all these goodness of the organic herbs and honey will keep your immune level in good level. Besides this, our own hygiene levels in our home and the environment also play an important role to keep ourselves healthy too.

External Care – Feet Soak

  • 4L of warm to hot water in a small wide shallow low pail
  • 100gm of Sun Nature Natural Food Grade Epsom Salt
  • 20gm of Organic Sodium Bicarbonate

Mix the Epsom Salt and Sodium Bicarbonate into the warm water. Soak both your feet in it for 20mins – at least 2 times weekly. This will assist elimination of toxic from the body and at the same time this process will assist to eliminate worms/parasites from your body, and also allow your toe nails to be fungus free and will also soften the skin around the feet and sole.

External Care – Oil Pulling

  • 30ml of Organic Coconut Oil (2 Tablespoons)

Pour this oil into your mouth and gargle your mouth and throat for about 4-5 minutes after you have brushed your teeth in the morning. Then spit out the coconut oil into the toilet WC to be flushed away.

This daily exercise of oil pulling assist your elimination and removal of toxic materials, germs that might have been hibernating in your mouth and prevent any bacteria to move downwards to your gut system. It also prevents mouth diseases and improve the quality of your teeth. This is especially beneficial when we aged and our teeth quality is degenerating.

External Care – Nose Cleansing

  • 1/2 teaspoon of All Natural Himalayan Black Salt powder
  • 250ml Water

Boil the water with the black salt powder till it melts and let it cool totally. Then use a netty pot to cleanse your nose the traditional way if you are regularly using this method.

The next simple manner is to get a plastic bottle with a nozzle. Pour the cool boiled salt water into the bottle. Then with one finger hold and press one side of the nose, hold your breath and with this nozzle push the salt water through the nose that is not blocked. Release your fingers and salt water may flow thru this side of the nose or towards your throat. You may feel uncomfortable doing this for the first time, but not to worry. Just spit out the salt water. Keep practising this on a daily basis.

After that, let go of your finger and press the other side of the nose with your finger again and then press the salt water through the nozzle to repeat the same process again.

Nose Cleansing can help prevent any bacteria inhaled into the nostrils and it keeps your upper respiratory track clean. Salt has antiseptic property and can prevent any inhalation of unwanted particles.

This can be done after your oil pulling or can be done anytime when you are free to do so.

As I have always reminded my patients , the key to have a good immune level is not through medication but a discipline routine of regular cleanse and rejuvenation program with intake of good food, regular exercise, early to bed plus regular intake of good formulated home made drinks to boost your immunity.
